I am happy to announce that we’re doing an Xbox 360 System Update Preview program for our next release, and the opportunity to sign up is now available. The Preview Program will give you the chance to check out ESPN on Xbox LIVE, Zune music, Netflix search, the new Xbox LIVE dashboard, and new updates to Zune video and Family Settings on your Xbox 360*. Much like we did last year, you’ll need to visit the Microsoft Connect site from this link and sign in with your Windows LIVE ID that is connected to your Xbox LIVE Gamertag. Once you complete the survey that is presented to you, the Connect site will notify you immediately if you’ve been accepted. A couple of points before you head off to register:
- We’re looking for multiple thousands of participants, so your chances of making it in are good.
- This is not for Kinect. You will not be receiving a Kinect sensor if you are chosen to participate.
- This opportunity is open to all Xbox LIVE Members in regions where Xbox LIVE is available.
- To avoid any problems, read the survey carefully and double check all the information your provide.
- While both Xbox LIVE Gold and Silver members can sign up, Priority will be given to Gold members in the selection process.
I’ll be sure to updated this post if the program fills up.
Sign up for the Xbox LIVE Update Preview Program
Good luck!
*Not all features are available in all Xbox LIVE regions. Netflix subscription required to use Netflix features. An ISP that supports ESPN 3 is required to use ESPN features. Xbox LIVE Gold Account required to use some features
By the end of May I got a very interesting email stating that my account from WOW was suspended for violation of terms. This is very interesting since I canceled my account about nine months ago (November 2009) I did some research and after emailing back and forth with Blizzard it turns out the someone hack my account thru those third party add-ons which I did get from Course.com since this is a well respected site. Anyways, I got back my account and it seems that everything is there. When I logged in it shows that someone had prepaid for the month of June. So I got to play free for a month but, the story doesn’t end there….after the month passed and the prepaid subscription expire I received another letter stating that I owe Blizzard for that month some paid in advanced. Again
I got in contact with Blizzard and it seems that not only they hacked my account but they also used a stolen credit card to paid the subscription.
So everything was cleared, I didn’t have to paid for anything since it wasn’t my fall.
My word from me to you, make sure you know what add-ons you are using and be extra careful.
Here are my recomendations for a safe MMORGP play:
– Use the latest IE broswer
– Make sure you use any antivirus (I use Avast -freee soft)
– Among other things use an Authenticator (Free App for you Ipod/Iphone or order the keychain for 4.99)
There are a tons of other recommendations but you have to figure it out for yourself.
Just be safe online and know what you download before hand.

We’re aware that many of you are having difficulty connecting to the PlayStation Network this evening. Those of you with “slim” PS3s (the 120/250 GB models) appear to be unaffected.
Know that we have narrowed down the issue and have engineers working to restore service even as you read this. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, and genuinely appreciate your patience while we work to resolve this.
As you may be aware, some customers have been unable to connect to the PlayStation Network today. This problem affects the models other than the new slim PS3.
We believe we have identified that this problem is being caused by a bug in the clock functionality incorporated in the system.
Errors include:
The date of the PS3 system may be re-set to Jan 1, 2000.
When the user tries to sign in to the PlayStation Network, the following
message appears on the screen; “An error has occurred. You have been
signed out of PlayStation Network (8001050F)”.
When the user tries to launch a game, the following error message appears
on the screen and the trophy data may disappear; “Failed to install
trophies. Please exit your game.”
When the user tries to set the time and date of the system via the
Internet, the following message appears on the screen; “The current date
and time could not be obtained. (8001050F)”
Users are not able to play back certain rental video downloaded from the
PlayStation Store before the expiration date.
We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data.
As mentioned above, please be advised that the new slim PS3 is not affected with this error. We are doing our best to resolve the issue and do apologize for any inconvenience caused.
For the latest status on this situation please continue to check either the PlayStation.Blog or PlayStation.com.
